Измерение чувствительности наблюдателя к некоторому стимульному "событию". "Событие" здесь трактуется широко. Это может быть появление простого стимула, возникновение какого-то стимула, который некоторым образом отличается от другого стимула, часть конвейера, имеющая дефект, тень на рентгеновском снимке и т.д. Измерение d (пришло из теории различения сигнала как индекс того, насколько чувствителен наблюдатель к стимулу независимо от критериев ответа, награды за правильный ответ, правдоподобности предъявляемых стимулов и набора инструкций, предлагаемых субъекту. Это, таким образом, индекс "идеального" наблюдателя, который может, конечно, применяться для любого данного субъекта в эксперименте по различению сигнала. См. теория различения сигнала. The article describes the evolution of the theoretical studies of the phenomenon of leadership. It deals with Jungian theory for the understanding of leadership and implementation of mechanisms. Priority of the education in dissemination of the leadership values is argued. The author describes innovative leadership model based on archetypal analysis.

Developing the Entrepreneurial University through Positive Psychology and Social Enterprise: A Case

This article provides an empiricallybased insight into the operation and impact of socially-oriented entrepreneurship as an educational tool at the Russian Higher Education institution, ITMO University, St Petersburg. The experience suggests that consciously placing stress on the social and ethical dimension of entrepreneurship education provides a strong motivational factor which develops many students’ interests towards contributing positively to society. The effective engagement of students in community projects creates a synergy between the project’s practical objectives, students’ awareness of self, and helps to refine the students’ own life goals and values — invaluable for setting a career strategy.

Designing the Mass Media As a Homeostatic System by Means of Automation Engineering: Basic Concepts,

В эпоху широкого использования вычислительной техники в научных исследованиях особое место заняла автоматика. В этой области разработаны принципы построения автоматических систем, типовых элементов, применяемых для синтеза и анализа процессов различного вида. Принципы регулирования и управления универсальны. Следовательно, возможно перенести уже глубоко изученные законы управления материальными объектами и практический опыт в решении задач в одной сфере в другие, мало изученные области. Кибернетика как универсальная теория управления живой и косной природой сыграла роль проводника автоматики в сферу социальной деятельности человека. Автоматика позволила достаточно точно смоделировать многие виды человеческой практики. Неотъемлемой частью в разработке и применении автоматических систем управления служит компьютерная техника. Типовые звенья автоматической системы отражают процесс преобразования входной характеристики в выходную, легко воплощаются в программные модули ЭВМ. Интегрально-дифференциальные уравнения, описывающие законы переработки сигналов, переводятся в операторную форму с помощью преобразования Лапласа. Этот прием позволяет упростить описание математической модели и объяснить закономерности исследуемого процесса на основе результатов, полученных при проведении с этой моделью имитационных экспериментов. Положив в основу исследования диалектическую концепцию функционирования СМИ и инвариантность законов управления, необходимо признать очевидность и насущность выявления противоречивого характера управления коммуникационными процессами. Для решения данной задачи авторами статьи с учетом опыта широких обобщений и глубокой проработки в разных областях знаний высказана идея применения гомеостатической концепции для выявления природы СМИ. В связи с этим в представленной работе отдельное место отведено смысловой интерпретации ключевых терминов: информация, система, противоречие, компромисс, гомеостаз. Это позволяет более емко раскрыть суть изучаемого социального явления коммуникации как важной составляющей в нетрадиционном (гомеостатическом) ракурсе. Для способа описания модели процессов коммуникации в новом аспекте в статье обосновано применение математического аппарата теории автоматического регулирования. Представлены основные звенья автоматической системы, их математическое функциональное описание для отражения механизма действия гомеостатической медиасистемы. В качестве примера приведены математическая модель элементарной системы коммуникации средствами автоматики, схема модели «информационной единицы жизни».

DISPLACEMENT AND OVERALL CONFLICTUAL RELATIONS (OCR) AS PATTERNS TO INSTANTIATE ACADEMIC CONFLICT IN

Following Giannoni’s classification of the rhetorical strategies for overt (rather than covert) negative evaluation, the current study aimed to investigate lexico-grammatical structures to instantiate Overall Conflictual Relations and Displacement as two major rhetorical strategies to realize Academic Conflict in two distinct corpora of textbooks in applied linguistics specifically taught at MA and PhD levels. Adopting a Mixed-Methods Approach, the study revealed the various lexico-grammatical items that were frequently used to instantiate Displacement and Overall Conflictual Relations. Qualitatively, the emerging patterns and the functions they served were delineated. At the quantitative stage of the approach, the corresponding distributions of the emerging patterns were investigated and recorded. This corpus-based study also found that the two corpora utilized resources for expression of Overall Conflictual Relations with an almost similar distribution; however, there was a statistically significant difference between the MA versus PhD textbooks concerning the use of Displacement. The study found the important functions of the strategies as the ways to put two ideas in opposition to later take side with one at the expense of discarding the other. The study also found that the strategies were among the prominent incentives to construct knowledge in the field.

Analysis of Russian films in 1992-2017 on the school-university topis shows that: the educational / educational process left in the past the Soviet framework of communist orientations and anti-religious orientation; the number of entertaining interpretations has sharply increased; the stories are not directly related to key international political events, although they are to some extent dependent on domestic political attitudes; the main conflicts are built on the confrontation of extraordinary teachers and students with stagnation, bureaucracy, the grayness of the bosses / colleagues / team; very often the focus is on problem zones (crisis, disappointment and fatigue, professional "burnout" of teachers, bureaucracy, corruption, pragmatic cynicism of students, teenage cruelty, etc.); Among the characters distinctly manifested materialistic differentiation; the pupil characters are mainly divided into the following categories: optimistic and vital perspectives (often associated with material status and hedonism), or in a state of depression and hopelessness; activity of students is more directed towards entertainment, sex and material gain; the attitude of teachers and students has lost the barriers of subordination, largely because the prestige of the pedagogical profession in the eyes of students and the public continued to fall; in the pedagogical collectives, the images of female teachers, often lonely and unsettled, still come to the fore; the appearance of students and teachers has become even more "free", vividly denoting female sex appeal; film stories about students, in contrast to a number of Soviet counterparts, are virtually devoid of intellectual disputes, but are densely immersed in the genre element of melodrama and / or comedy; and in general, the theme of love in the cinema on the school-university theme is for the most part given accented comedic and / or melodramatic.

Demands placed upon individual techniques fulfillment in volleyball

Volleyball players’ technique and tactics are characterized by constant search for the ways of individual peculiarities realization of the leading techniques fulfillment with the use of innovative approaches, which provide new forms of movements appearance on the basis of earlier mastered movements. Difficult technical-tactical technique realization in volleyball is conditioned by the process of an adequate perception and quick monitoring of the situation during the game on the basis of extrapolation and further duration of spots combat. Materials. Theoretical and methodological substantiation of the need for modern system of training among female volleyball players modernization, the methodology creation of qualified female volleyball players training in accordance with new demands, tendencies of modern volleyball development. Research methods: scientific and scientific-methodical literature analysis and systematization, testing, pedagogical experiment, statistical data handling. Results. The article determined the demands placed upon sports training organization among volleyball players at a modern stage, conditioned by volleyball development tendencies. The methodology of individual skills of techniques formation is created, which are directed at easiness of motor acts and sense of proportion generation. Motional tasks were included into the content of preparatory, main and final parts of the training, into games and competitions, where the conditions of their fulfillment were considerably complicated. Conclusion. The results of the held pedagogical experiment prove the effectiveness of the offered methodology of the training process organization. Demands, placed upon sports improvement of female volleyball players, condition the search for nonstandard solutions, which provide creative participation of female athletes in the quality of the training lessons improvement. Individual technique formation of the leading techniques fulfillment, such as the sense of easiness in difficult motional actions and sense of proportion, while choosing an optimal rhythm and tempo of motional actions, provided female volleyball players’ kinesiological potential successful realization, the skills of spatio-power and spatio-temporal orientation in playing activity formation among female volleyball players, which helped to improve greatly qualified female athletes’ indices of general physical and technical readiness.

DECISION-MAKING PROCESS DURING THE FULFILMENT OF MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS

The paper deals with the decision-making process in crisis management with focus on the Army of the Czech Republic (soldiers at the University of Defence in Brno). Within the research, 44 soldiers were monitored whilst managing various tactical situations during a three-week complex field training exercise. The soldiers were supposed to carry out the following combat assignments: fire control, battle order and radio operation. Prior the training, the soldiers filled out a questionnaire the questions in which corresponded with the above mentioned practical tasks. Based on the acquired outcomes, it may be stated that the assessment of theoretical solution of selected combat assignments among future squad leaders may be used for the prediction of how successful the management of such assignments may be in practice.

DIRECTIONS, OBJECTIVES, AND AUTHOR'S CONCEPTS OF AUDIOVISUAL MEDIA INTERPRETATIONS OF SCHOOL AND

The films of the "stagnation" period (1969-1985) related to school/university topic show that on the screen: the educational process went beyond the previous strict framework of rules, the persistence of rigid communist landmarks, and the anti-religious orientation were no longer imposed; the students' activity that mostly used to be directed to the outside world, began to shift to their inner worlds and feelings; the main conflicts were built on the opposition of non-ordinary teachers and students vs. stagnation, bureaucracy, mediocricy of the authorities / colleagues / classmates; the relationships between teachers and students were becoming more democratic and free; the prestige of the pedagogical profession in the eyes of students and society went sharply down; there were problem zones at school and university (crisis, disappointment and fatigue, professional "burnout" of teachers; pragmatic cynicism of students, teenage cruelty, etc.). Transformation also existed in the gender aspect of the school/university films. In the 1960s and the mid-1970s, the screen teacher is usually a man; then in the late 1970s early 1980s the teachers are mostly female, often single and lonely.

Declared by the students of the technical University motives of attendance in physical education

Physical education as a subject in high schools is undergoing a number of changes in accordance with the introduction of bachelor and modifications to state standards. Students have their own point of view on how should look like physical culture as a subject. Improving the system of physical education at technical University should take into account the opinion of students as direct participants in the educational process. Materials. The study of students motives can serve as a first step to understanding problems and defects in the system of physical education at the technical University. This article discusses the problems that impede the students to fully engage in sports activities, and motivations that contribute to their active and conscious attend classes in physical culture. Methods. Analysis of literature, anonymous written survey, mathematical and statistical processing of the obtained results. Results. Improvement of skills to perform a variety of physical exercises contributes to the development of intellectual, moral and volitional and motor skills, increasing physical fitness, good health, versatile, harmonious development. In the author's opinion, an important condition for improving the effectiveness of physical education teaching is the use of emotional tools, which are national, popular, outdoor, sports games, most available for dealing with average and below average levels of physical fitness. Conclusion. The results showed that the conditions of physical training in a technical University are not satisfied with more than a third of the students boys. But, at the same time, all the students (male) state that physical culture cannot be a full life. The fourth part of students is not satisfied with the lack of diversity and freedom of activities choice, interesting exercises in the classroom and modern sports facilities. While 16% of students think that physical culture is quite possible to live. The most significant problems that hinder active visits to the classroom for physical education, how girls and boys are called after a difficult couple of physical culture and just laziness.

Does Attending a Strong School Guarantee Good College Performance?

The paper tests the hypotheses on better academic performance of graduates from stronger high schools and the nature of relationship between college students’ achievements and their academic standing in high school (whether they performed above or below average) with due regard for school characteristics. Regression analysis is used to measure the effects of USE (Unified State Exam) scores, school type, and academic standing on college performance, while controlling for individual student characteristics and cases receiving the Governor’s regional scholarship in addition to the standard student allowance. The sample includes 313 firstyear Economics and Management students admitted to the National Research University Higher School of Economics in 2012 and 2013. Cumulative firstyear ranking points are used as an indicator of academic performance. As it turns out, graduating from an advanced high school or from a school with a high mean USE score in mathematics provides no guarantee of better educational outcomes for first-year students. Highschool academic standing has positive effects on academic achievements in college, the strength of such effects varying depending on school characteristics. Educational outcomes of students who performed above average in low-performing schools can be explained by the high level of intrinsic motivation typical of academically successful students. Therefore, ignoring the information on the academic standing of graduates from low-performing schools may lead to underestimating their academic achievement in college. As for receiving the Governor’s scholarship, this proves to be a significant factor in the academic performance of Management students only.
